It's official - Boro supporters are smoggies!
How do I know? I've a letter to prove it!
In September 2002 we played Boro at the Cellnet and as we approached the stadium all Sunderland supporters were given this letter. I kept a copy to show the Smoggies at work. It clearly says that Boro wear smog masks/chemical suits. So there you have it. Boro are officially smoggies!

P.S. A surreal sight as we entered the ground. There was a lad in a full set of paper overalls (smog suit) wearing what looked like a WWII gas mask. He lifted the mask to take a drink out of his pint then put it back in place and resumed his conversation with his mate!
