Reflections on a great day ...... almost
Where to start? Well, let's get the bad bits out of the way first. When McCarthy substituted Whitley for Lawrence it all went pear-shaped. I don't think Mhyre getting injured helped but up until then we'd been in full control of the game. I can't work out the logic of the substitution and Jack has made the point in his posting of the tactical ineptitude of the move but I guess we'll give McCarthy the benefit of the doubt as he's done wonders this season with the resources at his disposal but this time he got it wrong and lets hope he's learned something from it. With Wigan winning it's all back in the melting pot again and although we're still very well placed there's still some work to do. Saying that we were well in control for most of the game and you don't become a bad team overnight but Mhyres injury is a worry as Ingham doesn't look the part at all and doesn't inspire confidence in the defence. Wonder how close Poom is to playing? Thats enough about the game, it should have been a triumphant follow on from Wigan but it wasn't and there's nothing we can do about now. The Ipswich game becomes even more important now and if we get beat then we could be in trouble.
Apart from that I had a great day and really enjoyed the crack and a few drinks with the lads. Thanks very much lads, especially Jack, for making it a day to remember and I look forward to the next half century. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and facilities in the BCB and if I win the lottery tonight I promise I'll buy us all a season ticket for there. Some dodgy photos have been posted but nothing too incriminatory and we'll live to fight another day, both the team and supporters.
That's all for now, us old codgers need our kip. Thanks for a great day lads, shame that the team didn't do the same but that's Sunderland for you.

Billy, a good post well put. Lets hope like you say that there is something to be learned from today and that the lesson has been learned. i.e don't piss about when you don't need to.
As for the rest of the day,
Quality.
Great company, good crack and overall a great day. Thank you for the invite and making the arrangements.
Looking forward to becoming the Compo, Foggy and Clegg of the blog.
