C'mon Lads, where's the report?

Good, bad or indifferent we'd all like to read the views of the bloggers. Surely thats what this blog page is for. Can't ignore the fact that at present we are shite, but even so it would be good to read views of why we are shite, what we are going to do to put things right and some forthright views on whats going wrong.

Just to get the ball rolling I've been having a look back at some statistical information, comparing Wilkinson with McCarthy. Now we all know that Wilkinson was not the fans choice, was hounded out by fans, press and a bunch of players who had thrown in the towel and didn't fancy a bit of hard graft under Wilko.

The fans choice was McCarthy and sometimes you get what you deserve, so does McCarthys Premiership record stack up any better than Wilko's?

Wilkinson:- P14. W 2. D 5. L 7. F 16 A 33 Pts 11

McCarthy:-P 22. W 1. D 2. L19. F14 A 46 Pts 5

Undoubtedly we'd have gone down under Wilko but would we have been better placed to compete when( and if) we had come back up? Wilko made only 1 signing,Poom, McCarthy has made umpteen and how many of them have stood out really speaking, save perhaps Whitehead.

I can't help thinking we were very premature in showing the Wilkinson / Cotterill combination the door and they now look very good when set against McCarthy. Cotterill has Burnley flying in the Championship and will have then there or thereabouts in the shakeup. Now that would be the ultimate irony should Burnley come up as we go down.
