Set of Prima Donnas with no Heart or Passion

Well having watched the shambles in Belfast I am pleased my Englandfans+ membership number did not come out of the hat for a ticket to the match.

What an absolute load of garbage served up by overpaid, heartless and supposedly skillful footballers who should have been proud to wear the three lions on their chests.

Can you tell me that the formation again chosen was the right one, did the players know what they were doing, what the fuck is Rooney on, is Michael Owen worth £16m, are Hargreaves, Defoe, Young, Joe Cole world class, why was Shaun Wright Phillips taken off, can Lampard and Gerrard play together, can Lampard and Gerard get involved with Beckhams new role, is Sven the right man to lead us to Germany?? All questions and probably more that need answering and answering fast.

One thing on the positive side was Northern Irelands bunch of lowly paid, with not much premiership experience outplaying England in the second half with what is supposed to be our best squad.

Mick McCarthy has been criticised for not buying quality and players with premiership experience. The performance tonight by Northern Ireland just goes to show that football is a funny old game and with team spirit, work rate and belief then things are possible. We should take heart at SAFC that once the new players, and there has been more than a full team of new comers recruited start to gel and the team ethos and spirit is there like last year we can put on a show against the so called prima donnas in the premiership and okay we may get thrashed abit but there is hope and the NI game plan, passion and work rate tonight should go along way to give our players hope against a struggle all season - but premiership status at the end of the season.

Comments from you bloggers out there please!

Embarrassing - too right it was!

You've said it all Jim, not much to add other that to agree wholeheartedly with your comments.
England were a shambles and I feel Erickson is bending over backwards to accomodate a lot of prima-donna's when he should be concentrating on how the TEAM plays. A lot of what's bad with football was on show last night (petulant overpaid players who think they have a divine right to fame, riches and glory)- well done to the Irish for playing their hearts out and showing England how to battle and win. Got to say though that the England tactics were confusing. England need to get back to basics quickly or else we may not qualify.
I'm a bit more optimistic that we might get something out of the Chelsea game if we can show the same spirit as NI. Here's hoping!
