SAFC v Pompey

Well Huyton you were the lucky one - you kept away. What a follow-on from Tuesday nights display. Soxy was also unlucky he missed the coach as he thought it went at 1.10pm from Kelloe and blagged a lift bet he now wished he stopped at home.
The game started well with a penalty after 3 minutes and at 1:0 up everyone thought we would go on to romp home. But as the game went on and lack of tactics and goal attempts we went into the second half hanging onto our lead. Then it went all horribly wrong ... first a goal to make it level and then a total cock up between Stubbs and Davis let them in for a soft goal and then a 40 yarder that Davis stood and watched as it went in the back of the net. The final nail in the coffin came with a diving header that Davis seemed slow to dive for. Mass exit towards the door and at the final whistle a few of the loyal ones stopped back to either applaud or jeer the team off the pitch. I for one will never jeer any of the team but I also did not applaud them off the pitch.
This will go down as the worst performance I have seen for a long time. I was gutted at the way we caved in to a team that was the worst to appear at the SOL for quite a while.
We all thought and hoped that the next few home games we would pick up 9 points but it now seems that we will struggle all the way through the season, unless a miracle happens. It makes you sick when you see Wigan where they are .... and on merit as they have picked up some good results by playing with confidence due to a good start .... something that if we had started okay we would have had the confidence to tear teams apart like Pompey.
Now looking forward to our last trip to Highbury and probably our last trip to see Arsenal for along time.

Jim,

It's obviously a shambles mate, and you have my admiration, but not my sympathy for putting up with it week in week out.

The only ways is up, baby.
