Sorry Huyton but another cut a paste job .....

Dear Coxhoe Branch,

"I thought we did more than enough to get something out of it. I said at half-time that they were there for the taking.
"We contained them and we did enough to get something out of the game. To concede a goal so soon after going in front was disappointing.
"Then they get a corner and we don't get the near-post header - and then we handball it.
"Instead of getting at least a draw, we go and lose it. It's got to stop. You have to pick them [the players] up but sometimes they have to pick themselves up.
"Our goal was great, we hit them on the break and did well. We knew Pompey would come at us but even then Kevin Kyle had a chance to make it 2-0.
"Kevin will admit he has to do better in those situations. His first touch took him away from goal, instead of towards goal. Those chances don't come often. If he finishes it, it's 2-0 and game over.
"I've gone in the changing room afterwards and I'm absolutely fuming, because the game was there for the taking. This is my old club but I desperately wanted to win.
"Our attacking play was OK, but at times we have to retain the ball better.
"Kelvin [Davis] did well and the central defensive pair did well. They will be disappointed because we should have got something out of it and we haven't.
"The players have got to do it, not me. You cannot legislate for a handball in the box so late in the game, you cannot coach that.
"It was great seeing everyone again [at Portsmouth] but the defeat has taken the shine off it. We should have got a result."
All the best,

Kevin Ball

Must try harder Jim.

Even your match reports are more entertaining than Kevin's.

He's getting to sound like a broken record, and of course it's got nowt to do with him once they are over the white line.

Ha'Way Jim, make one up, just for old times sake and to make us all feel a little better.

I will make one up for you Jack. We can not pretend that we are anything other than a mediocre Championship side usually giving 120% for seventy minutes. We then start to run out of steam and, hey presto, surprise, surprise, we do not have the ability to pass the ball about and hold it when required. All the spin and gloss spoken before and after games by players management and ex-management can't disguise the fact that we are the worst team ever to wear the red and white stripes. It's as simple as that. Fickling said, some time ago, that they were building a team of good promising players from the lower divisions. That is exactly what they have done. It did not work out, with the direct consequence that we start all over again with team building. It is yo yo time again. The big question is, do we stay on the yo yo? Me, I don't think so. Not until Bob goes anyway.

After witnessing one of the most funniest comedians in Paddy McGuinness last night in Sunderland we ventured back to The Capital in Durham for a late supper.

Only one table was being used, those on it being Martin Scott, Kevin Ball and their wives. They had been there since 7pm and the bill was already up to £400 according to our waiter mate. Bearing in mind it is now 11.30pm Bally and his wife (not a footballers wife by any stretch of the imagination) had a bit of a ding dong - I think she may have stated the dreaded words "its only a game"....... we soon left, enjoyed the jalfreizi though.....

Two Observations.

1 Anon. Is this side truly worse than the some of the dross we watched in the 70's and 80's. Are our midfield players really worse than Shaun Cunnington and Bob Lee?

2 Miller:- Did Bally make reference that once the onion barjee had gone down his wifes neck then there was nothing he could do about it?
