Message from Roy ...... and yes we were absolutely shite!

Dear Coxhoe Branch,
We started the game OK, then the goals went flying in; the second goal was a big one - the decision went against us.
When that goes in, you are thinking it could be five or six but the players reacted well. We hit the post and had a couple off the line. I'm sure they [Preston] could have argued that they took their foot off the pedal a bit.
It's disappointing and it's a learning curve for all of us.
Goals change games. We conceded one and you look for a reaction, before you know it you're three down, sometimes football is as crazy as that.
They [players] gave a good effort in the second half but the game was over.
We had chances and that's the one plus, on another day we could have scored three. I don't feel it was a hammering but it goes in the record books as that.
When we get support like that it makes us even more determined to get it right.
I've spoken to one or two of the players, they don't think it was a penalty.
I think Preston will be there or thereabouts, it's a benchmark for us. There's a lot of hard work ahead. We need to improve, especially away from home.
I'm glad there's a game on Tuesday, it's going to be an important week for us now, it's how we react.
When you are on the back on a heavy defeat the next game becomes even more important, that's why the Stoke game is vital.
All the best,
Roy
