Will it be better tomorrow?

This football malarkey is getting a bit too regular for me. Two games in less than a month !! I hope tomorrow is a little more enthralling than the Coventry game which I thought was dire, and whilst I have Jim to thank for arranging it for me I think even Jim was embarrassed by the standard that was served up that day.

However, things have certainly improved since then and The Red & Whites sit proudly at the top of the table and have it in their own hands with so few games left to play. This has really stoked up the atmosphere and a feel good factor is starting to return, even to me.

Tomorrow I venture to the Stadium of Light on two counts. One to see Sunderland consolidate the top spot with an excellent performance in front of a near full house and two, to help my good friend and fellow supporter Brian Mitton ( Billy to the bloggers) celebrate his 50 th birthday. When it comes to Myself, DP, and Jim then Brian is very much "Junior" but we won't remind him of the fact, don't need to, he keeps reminding us that we are much older. The Black Cats Bar will see a small celebration in convivial company in palatial surroundings and I'm really looking forward to it. We won't let a minor issue like no early morning beer spoil the day.

So will it be better tomorrow? Of course it will. Brian joins the club, can get cheap Saga holidays and should see a drop in his next car insurance premium.

He's a good lad, a long standing mate ( 1966) and a solid SAFC fan.
(and he still won't retire before me)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRIAN, 9TH APRIL 1955.
