I suppose it's a bit like a being constipated Jimmy. There is a tendency to retain a lot of shit.

A good dose of senna or enemata ( ask your Mam) is what's needed at SAFC.

All jokes aside, and I'll put my hands up to not having seen spme of these players first hand, the first thing that strikes me is who the F**k are Peter Hartley and Kevin Smith?

When I look down that list a conversation I had with Paul Simpson on the day that Liam Lawrence, and Dean Whitehead signed always springs to mind.

Paul seemed excited at such signings and asked my view. I was less than enamored at the ambition of a club as big as Sunderland and my reply went along the line of " if you buy 2nd division players you'll end up watching 2nd division football" Well they are half way there.

WTF happened to Bassila last season? Comes in, does a job on Boateng at the Boro then disappears.

Why are we persevering with the likes of Danny Collins, he makes Jody Craddock look like John Terry.

Will Stephen Wright ever be fit enough to knack himself up again and run up and down like a greyhound that can't find the hare?

Sadly what McCarthy brought in was a damn sight worse than what he let go and it's going to take a monumental effort to sort it out.

Whats happened to this take over malarkey? That seems to have gone very quiet too.

Too much to say but not enough room to write it all.

Been away in Grangemouth all week so just catching up with emails etc.

Not a squad to inspire any thoughts of automatic promotion - a squad full of journeymen with little of no quality in all depts. Knowing where to start is the problem. Midfield is probably our 'strongest' area (!) but I'd definitely want to see central defence strengthened and no way is that forward line going to score enough goals.

Hope Quinny has deep pockets, he's going to need them!

Peter Hartley makes very good jam and a big influence for extra that bit of energy when he spreads the jam on the toast they get before the lads take to the pitch.
Kevin Smith - ahve you not seen him on the telly in Alias Smith and Jones?
As for signing 2nd division players and heading that way - you were proved correct last season hope not this season.
As for Bassila I thought he would be our Vierra - but perhaps that was wishful thinking!
As for the defensive players - have we any?
As for the McCarthy buys - least said the better - he make take soem with him if he gets the Charlton job (possibility that we may be playing Charlton season after next if he does get the job .... and not in the Premiership!
Take over is still going over the legal stuff and will be a done deal in June..... otherwise we are in the shit!
