And There You Have It.......

Sunderland crowned Champions of Division 1 ( or Coca Cola Championship) for the 3rd time in the space of ten years.

Now then, if I live to be 100 I never want to see the Lads win that trophy again. I never want to see them relegated again. They never should have got themselves into the position where they had to win the Coca Cola Championship ever agin, but they did. Now they are back where they rightfully belong, because SAFC are a BIG club, and the loyalty the fans have shown over decades now needs to rewarded by establishing themselves in the big league. Never mind the Mags and The Smoggies, the fan base SAFC have should be enough to see us challenging both of them

I tell you what men, it was a nice feeling to hear them win the game tonight. Walter and I listened in and talked each other through it via MSN. We could hardly contain ourselves. Walter in an internet cafe in Buenos Aires and me in me cupboard in Coxhoe. It felt like we were sitting side by side at the match. I said when the second half started we could win this and as soonas Stewy went off and Stevie came on " Walter we'll win this now" Elliots pace will kill them" and as they pushed forward they will leave gaps at the back. Sure enough they did and the rest is history.

The happiness was tangible acrross the 6,000 plus miles from the UK to Argentina. Lots of back slapping and cyber hugs. It's great to have mates who you've never met physically but who you can share joy with. One Day Walter lad, One day.

My thought were also with Jim and Brian, who are there in the flesh tonight. It makes the long journey all the more bearable and coming back with the trophy secured makes it even better. If i'd have been there I'd have been in tears. Soft shite that I am.

Well I'll look forward to the reportss tomorrow sometime and hope they have a safe journey home and are filled with joy and their cup overflows.

Stephen, you know what Coxhoe based supporters are like, you've been a branch member as long as I have and can remember 2 buses a week however, if SAFC can fill the club, why can't Jim fill a bus?

Because like me it's safer to shell nothing out until you can be assured ( that you can be) that SAFC aren't gonna f**k up again.

People will still be cautious next season. The pain of relegation is still fresh in peoples minds ( mine included) so they'll wait. Until then the club will always be full and we scoff at the Mags for having plastic fans.(Though I have no room to talk this season gone)
