A draw will be OK today
Have not gone today, despite Clive calling last night and saying he had a spare ticket for the game and the train due to someone dropping out at the last minute. I was tempted but our Alex has two games this weekend, one on Saturday and one on Sunday and I said I'd take him to both so I'll stick with that.
Anyway, as long as we don't get beat in the next two games I think we'll be OK. A win today would be a massive bonus but QPR are playing well and will fancy their chances also. Wigan are at home to West Ham and Ipswich are at home to Derby so they've got tough games and with a bit luck one of them may only draw and drop 2 points so I reckon a draw would be a good result for us.
Let's see what this afternoon brings!

Billy,
I hope you are right and we get at least a draw today and the others drop a point or two as this would set us up nicely for the Wigan game on Tuesday.
I also got the call from Clive, one from Miller and you also saw the note from the Aycliffe Branch -it gets my goat up when I see that the guys who organise all these trips get let down at the last minute by guys who probably know they can't get there days ahead and leave it to the last minute to notify anyone. This leaves it too late to try to get the ticket sold especially trains tickets in the case of the QPR game. Notibly it happened on Wednesday night Alan C just didn't turn up for the England game, did not let Clive D know, had his mobile switched off so Clive could not find out what was happening. We tried to get rid by alot of phone calls while having a drink in Durham - no takers; I don't know if Clive got rid of the ticket. I know that in most cases the genuine guys who do not turn up pay for the tickets and bus fares etc. but there are still some wa..ers out there.
Fully agree with your comments about tickets Jim. Seems like some people think that the branches are charities that are there for their every whim. Thankless task organising tickets, as Jack found out. When I spoke to Clive he was determined he would get the money in but it's just not right that he should be stressed trying to get rid of the ticket. When I didn't make it to Forest due to illness and he wasn't able to get rid of the ticket I had to pay £48 for the bus and ticket, and I know you did the same when your nephew didn't make it. Was quite a bit to pay but it was my responsibility not Clives and I was happy to pay.
Just got back from our Alex's QF and first thing I've done when I've come in is log in to this site - I think it's staring to take over my life! Ferryhill won their game 1-0, a deserved win. They were playing Stockton Town a team 2 divisions higher and unbeaten in the league and cup so far. Well they're not unbeaten any longer as our lads played them off the park and should honestly have won by 3 or 4 but just couldn't find the net. The other team were always in it as long as it was 0-0 and it looked like extra time but we scored in the last minute to win the game - talk about tension!
Lest see what this afternoon brings. I'm just settling down after this mornings game and can feel the butterflys already for this afternoons game.
Haway the Lads!
Aye Jim, it's a piss boiler when people drop out at the last minute and leave you high and dry with tickets. I still have 2 tickets fully intact from the Blackburn Rovers game a la PC669 which was left high and dry with.
The main lesson to learn with tickets is MONEY UP FRONT!! Get the money before you order the ticket, or get them to make their own arrangements. Football is far too expensive a game to get stung.
Not going to football and still not smoking = always having money in your pocket.
