Guilty Yer Hona

Picture the scene bloggers last night in the club full to the brim with a bus load from Gateshead visiting after a day on the pee at Redcar Races and me and Mrs Gilligan, PeterJ and MrsJ having to sit next to the stage after the pies and sandwiches tables had been cleared. Singer good looking and not bad sounding either. During the second half spot the singer announces that she is not from Gateshead, as previously stated by the concert chairman SteveN, but from Newcastle and mad for the toon football club at which point she starts to sing the Monkey's song day dream believer. Everytime the chorus came the singer would stop and the bus load plus Mrs StevieN Donna who was sitting on the next table to yours truely were singing sad mackem bastards and a shit football team. The singer was loving it and even said at one point come on you know the words and Mrs StevieN kept on singing with the rest of them but directing her melody to me with both arms and fingers pointing at me.
Well what was I to do bloggers - do a Reaper and give her and StevieN a going over - no I thought go to plan B - I stood up switched the stage lights and the singers amps off so it stopped all the anti-singing about our great football club. StevieN was not amused at all but it certainly stopped anymore anti SAFC sounds. StevieN got his own back at the end by playing all Lindifarne music Fog on the Tyne etc but I thought by this time I had made my point.

Childish - possibly, should I have done it - possibly not, will I ever do something like it again - probably not, but I was provoked into action to stop being called a mackem bastard direct to my face and also there was the good name of SAFC to defend.

So if or should I say when the letter comes from GeoffA I will plead guilty yer hona but will take a few with me including Mrs StevieN.

Wonder if the Red Lion will have us back as the head quarters for the Branch !!!!

Gerrin there Jimmy, well done, a true Sunderland supporter. Just think what it will be like when we beat the Mags - as you say, perhaps we'd better go back to the Red Lion for a celebratory drink that day!
It's all starting to 'warm up' - only 6 more days to go till the big kick off.

Only one word to sum you up Jimmy.

HERO.

There is a lot to be gained by getting the club on board but a very rsiky strategy where sad twats like StevieN exist.

Cardboard cut outs the lot of them.

So expect a letter. Expect a ban, but you will gain legendary status as a Mackem who put them sad cnuts in their place.

Just re-read your posting Jim. Although it may result in a ban it does have it's funny side - I can hardly believe you actually pulled the plug and plunged the stage into silence and darkness. God, you must have nearly provoked a riot!
On a more practical side, if you do get banned I think the antagonists should also be taken down with you. Think about it as if it had been a fight. Both sides usually get punished and the antagonists usually get the worst for starting it. In this case you were the 'respondee' and the chanters were the 'antagonists'. Having said that mind, you were working the Mags at our promotion party so maybe not such a strong line of defence!
I don't know the other's involved (Stevie N and Donna) but presumably a ban would make them think twice about their future actions. Not sure if it's a good idea for the branch to remain in the club in these circumstances. Last thing we need is a hostile atmosphere against us which might erupt if a result goes a certain way. An SAFCSA branch in a Mag dominated club is perhaps a recipe for trouble. Lets see what happens.
