SAFC v Chelsea

Just a reminder that the next match that we are expected to win is played on Sunday, kick-off 4.05pm. The coach will leave Kelloe at 1.50pm / Coxhoe 1.55pm and Doggie at 2.00pm.

Also please note that due to declining numbers on the coach we have lost £150 + over the last three matches and need the support of all the branch members that are still attending the matches. Okay if you have voted with your feet due to the current performance on and off the field and do not go to the matches, but this note is directed at the members who still are going to the matches but now in cars because it's cheaper / our lass is taking me cos she wants to go shopping / I need to be in Sunderland early or I need to be back quick to get out on the night.

Since we have parked at Dundass Street we have had no more problems with late departure and we have returned to Coxhoe at 6.00pm or before.

I could go by car, I get my petrol paid for so it would cost me nowt to go to the matches by car but I support the branch because its there for the local community. One day you may need the branch to get to the matches and the branch might not be there due to you using your cars now and again.

As I have said many a time it's not my branch it's your branch please support us through thick and thin - leave the car at home and get the coach.

Well said Jim.

I don't go and you know my reasons.

Some will never understand the effort that goes in by branch officials to make the matchday experience more pleasurable.

It's thankless being the secretary of a branch, it's even more thankless when the team isn't doing it's bit too.

Yes Guys the branch is well organised 3-pick-up points and trouble free travel to the game-Jim will tell u about other branches we have travelled with where members are not there or forgot tickets or leavin to find someone is not on coach cos they have gone for Pizzas -this is not a complaint cos we rely on other branches, but this statement is to show how well Jim (and Jack before) has this branch coach runnin almost as it should be run, SO use it or lose it-MR Walton u would have had a field day on Sun...

Aye, fully agree with the previous comments from Huyton and Mel.

The "Middleham Lads" will all be there on the bus Jimmy - I went in the car on Sunday as I couldn't make the bus in time cos of our Alex's game but believe me, the bus is best.

That's right Billy and I fully endorse your feelings and your comments there. You are, without doubt, a man on a mission. You can buy it in bottles.

Jim, your job as the branch organizer must be fully appreciated. The fact that fans can travel to games without thinking of driving is superb. Personally speacking, our Velez branch here in Moreno (Moreno Branch) gets a bus provided free of charge by the club itself, that is, the Club Atletico Velez Sarsfield gets a free coach for every away game. In spite of that, there were some whispers that the club was considering not go on providing us the bus because of the the little amount of fans on it for the away game.. So, as a conclusion, make use of the coach if you can..

I appreciate all the good comments made on this posting. Yes it is difficult to attract people on the coach when the team and the Sunderland management are performing as they are today. All I'm trying to do is to make people aware that without the support of all the branch members then the branch will really struggle to make ends meet before we reach the end of the season. I am now calling in the sponsorship that was given last year the first cheque will be with us by the end of the week. This will mean that the branch's future is safe for the time being, but I think you will agree that the future of the branch should lie with the branch members and not from companies that are not associated with the branch.
