Strange picture on the banner - County Hall. Usually the theme is of pithead's or inspirational men from the Labour movement. Any idea why County Hall was chosen for the banner?

My thoughts exactly Billy, can't work out what the significance is at all.

Perhaps it's in recognition of thats where all the giro and compen payments come from!!

Posted with a clear conscience Huyton and not meant as a criticism of those who rely on these income sources (well, ok then, a bit of a dig). My personal involvement with Giro's and compen payments has been exclusively limited to 'paying in' to the schemes and so far, thankfully, not having to make any 'withdrawals'. Perhaps, after all these years of contributing, they'll give me a bit extra pension when I retire? Or maybe I'll be penalised for having saved a bit? Get it spent lads, no point in hoarding it just for the taxman to take if off you in later life.

I believe you Billy and will add to your sentiments by saying " There are no pockets in shrouds"

Agree with SW this is not the original Kelloe Banner the other side was the good samaritan I think. The original got ripped inside Kella club when butch and plu were carrying it one meeting day - left it standing against a wall and with the drink etc it got ripped - at least I think this is how it happened.
Replacemnent banner with county hall was I think Bearpark banner but not 100% sure.

Now then lads the mystery deepens.

I'm not sure whether this is the front or the back of the banner. I have a programme for the 119th Gala in 2003 and the Kelloe Banner has a painting of the Sam Wilson Rest Home on it. The picture looks to me as though they are marchin in on the morning, yet this year the County Hall side was shown on the march out.

Will need some more research.

There's a job for someone.
