Nowadays it would be text or email. Wonder if I sent in a postcard whether they would play "We can work it out' by The Beatles, the first single I ever got, quite likely bought from Hudson and Browns record shop, Coxhoe.

First LP, Sgt Pepper from Doggy Co-op.

Aye those were the days pop pickers, when Coxhoe had a record shop, ( Glenys Hall from Kelloe was the shop assistant) and Doggy Co-op had an upstairs electrical department that also sold records.

I'll see what I can do Billy.

Hudson and Browns Record shop was on the site of the Coronation Press today. The electrical department was the other half of it.

The Chinese used to be Robinsons Chip Shop.

I amy have the odd photo of Coxa but no promises mind.I'm not Francis Firth.

I knew Huyton would know, him being a long term resident and local historian.

Wonder if he has any pictures of that old drapery shop that's now the coffee shop? I remember that being unchanged for years and years - perhaps some of it ended up in Beamish?

BTW, who's Francis Firth?
