Coach for this Season
As you are aware dwindling numbers resulted in a loss on the years coach revenue of over £200. So as agreed at our AGM we have decided to change coach companies to Griersons of Fishburn.
The coach will be a 33 seater that may increase to a 49 seater as the season progresses. As we will have a 33 seater and with known season tickets holders wanting to go to all home matches there will be limited space on the coach averaging about 5 seats per match available.
So it is imperative that any members of the branch wishing to go on the coach contact me as soon as possible and no later than Tuesday before any Saturday match to check availability of seats. It will be done in order of priority regulars with season tickets first, casual members without season tickets second and any non-members last in the pecking order.
During the return journey home I will take names of those wanting to go to the next home match this will allow me to know how many spare seats are available for any one that contacts me. It is hoped that we attract more to travel on the coach and bring back a 49 eater coach.
Bus times are:
Saturday 15.00 kick off 12.50 Kelloe Greyhound and 12.55 Coxhoe Londis Shop (please note we will no longer pick up and drop off in Cornforth)
Mid-week 19.45 kick offs 17.55 Kelloe Greyhound and 18.00 Coxhoe Londis Shop.
Other kick off times will be notified as and when required.
Regards
Jim Gilling

Branch AGM 11th July 2006
Dear Branch Members,
As the new season approaches we took the deliberate decision to delay our AGM until we knew what was happening at SAFC. This was the result of members input saying they did not know if they were re-newing their season tickets until Murray was out; well that time is now hence the decision to arrange our AGM.
The AGM will take place on Tuesday 11th July in Coxhoe Workmens Club at 7.30pm.
May I remind you that it is not the committees branch but your branch, so if you want to be a part of the changes at the branch for next season please make sure you attend.

What I did on my summer holiday. By Theo Walcott Esq. Aged 8 1/2
I went to a place called Germany with my Uncle Sven and some other grown up's. It is a country in Europe where a bad man called Adolf used to live with his nazties, he does not live there anymore, Uncle Owen does live there, and the grown up's say I can't talk about the bad man as it will make Uncle Owen cry if I do. In Germany there are lots of castles and some mountains.
We are staying in a place called Baden Baden that's a silly name, Uncle Frank has the same name as his dad, that's silly too, his mum must get their underpants mixed up all the time.
On the aeroplane Uncle Sol sat next to me, he got me some toffee and wants to be my friend, he works at the place where I do my YTS, so does Uncle Freddy but him and Uncle Sol are not best friends anymore.
Uncle Owen met us at the airport, he talks foreign, Uncle Wayne, Uncle Steven and Uncle David also talk funny, my mum says Uncle David talks like Orville, he is a duck, Uncle Sol say's uncle David wears dresses and knickers, and asked me if I had ever worn them. Uncle Sol got me some pop.
In Germany the grown ups are going to play football, my grandad says we beat them in the olden days before my mum was born. That is a long time ago.
While the grown up's went to play football so I went shopping with Auntie Vicky and some other girls she bought me a big ice cream and got herself a little one but she said she was full before she had eaten any and threw it away. She bought lots of shoes and handbags and let me play with Brooklyn. She say's she used to be in a pop band and sang me one of her songs, I thing she was telling fibs.
I told Uncle Sol about my day out with Vicky and he sulked, then he bought me an even bigger ice cream with lots of hundred's & thousands on it.
All the other grown up's have a girlfriend except Uncle Sol so he plays with me while they go out. Uncle Sven says I must keep Uncle Sol happy, that's why I got taken on holiday.
The grown up's went to play Football against somebody called Sweden, Uncle Sol was crying as Uncle Freddy played for them and would not Talk to him. Uncle Sol bought me lots of toffee today and some crisps.
Uncle Sven is from Sweden and I heard him on the phone to their boss last night. Uncle Michael hurt his knee and had to go home to his mum for a plaster. Uncle Peter is a giant, a proper giant like you see in books, he is rubbish at football though.
Uncle Wayne had a sore toe at the start of out holiday but it got better so they let him play football. Uncle Sol got me a present but I do not like it. He says all Germans wear leather underpants and I should while we are here, they are too tight for me.
All the grown up's started to call Uncle Wayne a potato head who stood on somebody's spuds. He got shouted at by the referee. They are all saying that we have to go home now. Uncle Sol was crying again and I had to sit on his knee to make him stop. He had his mobile phone in his pocket, I think.
The end
Thats not the way to do it!
Watched the France v Portugal game and what a big difference from the other semi. Portugal were poor and did not really threaten the French goal until it was too late, they were diving all over the place, Ronaldo I thought had a good game albeit he was one of the divers. FIFA did say that they would do everything possible to stop the diving, they should review the video of this game as a typical example of cheating at it's best. Agree with some comments the referee should have produced a yellow or even red for the earlier diving that would have stopped the theatricals all throgh the match. As for the French they got their goal and eased back preferreing to play deep and allow the Portugese to attack probably knowing they would not score other than if it went to penalties. Haven't seen much of France v Brazil when apparantly they were good but I thought they looked tired lacked ability to change things and I reckon will get a close game with Italy with Italy just edging it 2:0 or 2:1.

Thats the way to do it!
Just seen the Germany v Italy semi-final, what a match it was played with great respect for each other, very little fouling or diving. The referee played a blinder and as for Italy well they were the best team by far and deserved the win that takes them to the final. Very pleased that it didn't go to penalties, two glorious goals with several near misses from both teams. Wasn't it great at the end to see all the German faces crying and thinking the world has come to an end. Sad that me and Miller weren't there to see what may be the best match so far. What would England have done against the slick short passing, posession and stamina from the Italians. What are your thoughts on the game fellow bloggers - did the best team win and what do you think their chances are against either Portugal or France. Personally I think it will be France v Italy with Italy winning the cup - even if they have to fix the match and bribe the referee!!!

The Big Man Cometh
Dear Coxhoe Branch,
The Niall Quinn-backed consortium today reached an agreement with Sunderland AFC on the terms of an offer for the club.
The offer will be 117 pence for each Sunderland share, valuing the club at approximately 10m (pounds).
Quinn said: ‘I am personally delighted, on behalf of my consortium company Drumaville (a company newly incorporated by Quinn and the consortium members), to be in a position to present this offer to the shareholders of SAFC. We believe this heralds a new beginning for Sunderland, but it’s only going to happen if everyone comes together in a joint effort.
‘My consortium are buying into the wonderful potential at the club and wish to help enable it to regain the status it truly deserves.’
