Cardiff

No slip up's please lads, we need to win this game and keep the pressure on Ipswich and Wigan. A big wake up call against Brighton last weekend and an unconvincing win against piss-poor Rotherham does not bode well and I hope we can regain some form and beat Cardiff. We should do, they're on the relegation fringes but you can bet they'll come and scrap for the points. I see Ipswich are at home to QPR who are going through a slump at the moment plus Wigan are away to lowly Gilligham so not holding out a lot of hope that either of them will slip up so it's up to us to keep the pressure on and win.
BTW, I see Burnley have signed Akinbiyi for £600,000. I remember back when he scored against us when playing for Leicester at Filbert Street. They were bottom of the League and he hadn't scored for ages but what happened, Reidy played one up front and he scored! With Breen and Caldwell out of sorts he might just do it again.
Anyway, sorry to be so pessimistic but thats how it feels at the moment. Maybe we'll play well vs Cardiff and come away with all 3 points and be looking forward to the Burnley game.

A good win and three good points(made even better by both Ipswich and Wigan unexpectedly getting beat) although in typical Sunderland fashion we were kept on the edge of our seats till the end. Should have had the game won long before then but another late goal conceded meant we were hanging on at the end.
Amazingly my MoM was Jeff Whitley who passed the ball around in midfield like a Brazilian today!!
All nicely set up for Burnely on Friday, we will go top if we win or draw - just watch, a defeat looming with John Ostler scoring the winner!?

P.S. When we went along School Avenue I glanced up as we passed No 1 to see Jack looking wistfully out of the bedroom window. Was he contemplating what he's missing, a freezing cold afternoon at SOL watching mediocre football ..... or was he perhaps looking forward to an afternoon on ebay?

Contemplating the bus being late and could hear the whingers twisting about it. Oh how I don't miss that aspect of running a bus.

Contemplaying buying a pressure washer so I can spend saturday afternoons wahsing the car without a bucket and sponge.

Walking around Bishop looking for cushions so the daughter can have her bedroom the way she wants it.

Contemplaying getting the paint brushes out ( again) and oh how I look forward to that.

Well for the first time this season SAFC are in an automatic promotion spot, but knowing them like I do our finger nails will be bitten down to the wick before this season is over. There will be a few more twists and turns before May.

I've got a pressure washer you can borrow if you want to give it a go and see how you get on. I got it a couple of years ago for cleaning the car and TBH I've never used it much. It's a bit of a clart on getting it out and it doesn't do the job as good as a bucket of soapy water and a sponge then a hose down. Useful for a once a year patio clean though. Borrow it and give it a go if you want.
You're right about the whingers! The bus was 20 mins late and some complaints, mainly about reduced drinking time. Jimmy looked a bit stressed and annoyed which is unlike him - the downside of running the bus. You're also right about there being a few twists and turns still to come. Unlike the season when we walked the league with and had it all in the bag by Easter this will go to the wire. Hard to predict how it will end up as each week brings a different twist. Looks like there is a reasonable points buffer between the top 3 and the chasing pack so we're not having to look over our shoulders too much but perm any two from three for automatic promotion. At the momnent I'd say we were very well placed and should do it but along way to go yet.

Whingers, I guessed as much and I bet a certain Kelloe chap was leading the twisters with his flat cap and all. I can hear him now "Howay man, this bus wants sorting out, ah cudav had another three pints"

At least with KR what you saw was what you got, explosive temper, but with the others oits as if it's psychological warfare just to grind you down.

Bought a pressure washer and just about to try it out.
