There in lies the root of missing fans. TV has absolutely ruined the tradition of Saturday afternoon 3 O'Clock.

Once upon a time you could pick up a fixture list and know with 99.9% certainty, barring floods or 45 inches of the white stuff that the game would go ahead at that time. You could plan, you knew you were going to the match, you didn't have to arse around changing shifts, getting a swap, sneak out early, or rush to get there at the risk of life and limb. It is as you say SILLY and serves no purpose other than to fill the coffers of football clubs, advertisers, television companies and corporate sponsors. It absolutely pisses me off and is major reason I no longer attend.
It's just too disruptive.

Take the Ipswich game as an example. I had planned to spend the weekend in Essex visiting Linda's sister in law and take the opportunity to grab a ticket or two and take my nephew along to portman Road, joining up with you lot and the Sedgefield contingent somewhere along the route on the A14. Great opportunity to leave on a friday afetrnoon take in the game on the Saturday, spend some quality time with relatives who are important to us have a leisurely Sunday morning and a safe drive back in time for work on Monday.

Big THANK YOU to Sky TV, you've fucked up my plans. Cnuts.

lets get the enjoyment back in, get some reality back, get some tradition again, get some singing going pre match, just like the old days. We're all mollycoddled now, it's too comfortable, with the burger bars, over inflated pie and pint prices, with a concoures to get away and out of the bad weather if it suits and tellies to watch the racing on.

Football?
